Zoology is the world of diversity. It is also known as animal science. A branch of biology formed to study about animal species. It covers the area of the structure of micro-organisms to sub-cell organisms.

The Department of Zoology at St. Thomas College Thrissur is aiming to develop a world of animal species. The students in our department are actively participating in all the curriculum activities. 

the Department of zoology was established during the year of 1957 under the university of Kerala. And this department is recognised as an approved research centre during 1974 under the university of Calicut. Currently, the department is enriched with a fully-fledged research laboratory and faculties with eminent personalities. They involved in research pursuits and publish journals in international journals.

An eligible student who passed plus two science with minimum of 60% marks scored in science and maths can apply for admission.
