Department of Political Science


The department of Political Science has introduced in St. Thomas college during 1925 as a subsidiary paper in the Degree course in Economics. The first Professor of the Department.  was Sri. P.P. Peter. The Department offers the Indian Constitution and Politics as the subsidiary paper.

 Political Science is the branch that deals with the state and system of the government or the scientific analysis of the political behaviour of the state. It includes an understanding of political ideas, powers, ideologies, policies, etc.

 The political science department has a strict political attitude always in the college premises. The expert faculties from the depth of the subject is a boon to the department.

 The courses offered are;
It acts as a subsidiary course for the BA Economics course.
