The department of Medium Studies of St. Thomas College, Thrissur was started in 2008. The postgraduate and undergraduate course consists of theory and philosophy of visual culture, mass media visual media, multimedia, etc. The cutting editing, sound editing, digital media technology, etc all are the part of media studies. 

The main aim of the course is to equip students with brilliant talents in the field of media and Entertainment industry. 
 The purpose of studying media studies is to look at the way of media looks. The job profiles related to media and entertainment completely come under media studies.
